More about EKOBUS
The new Czech product with the trademark name EKOBUS falls into the category of ecological buses utilizing the purest alternative fuel-compressed natural gas. Natural gas does not contain any carcinogenic particles and it is not a source of the exhaust gases damaging the ozone layer. Compared to diesel oil, it produces about 30 % less CO2 and about 90 % less CO and 25 % less oxide nitrogen. Simultaneously, it is the only fuel that does not produce any solid particles and soot during combustion, which in the case of common buses accumulate in our lungs.
Pressurized bottles are placed on the roof of the bus. This way the capacity of the luggage space is not reduced and the fully safe transport of the gas is ensured. Gas system is fully electronically controllable; it contains universal filling valve and pressure sensor directed to visual field of the driver.
EKOBUS is constructed with the use of the up-to-date technology. It is produced in three different versions, depending on the practical use and three lengths of the body: 9.5, 10.5 and 12 m. EKOBUS CITY is designed for urban public transport, version INTERCITY is designed for transport in the suburban areas and version INTERCITY LC is produced with higher seats. All versions are equipped with check-in and information system at customers request as well as by the safety components such as ABS or retarder.
The idea of adjustment of EKOBUS CITY to urban public transport is based on meeting the utmost passengerīs wishes. The bus is produced with lowered floor space /version CITY plus/ or there is the easy-access platform placed at the central door /version CITY/. Layout of the seats enables abundance of the space for wheelchair or pram.
At the end of May 2004 EKOBUS CITY plus will be introduced at the international conference. It is a low-floor bus with automatic gearbox suitable both for suburban areas transport (with a high frequency of prams or wheelchairs transportation) and for small and middle city public transport.
